CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Cathy Reynolds is the author of Whoa-Ga! Eight Limbed Yoga for Horse/Rider Harmony. She is also a professional horse trainer and riding instructor, and has trained horses in several disciplines including dressage, jumping, pleasure and barrel racing. She holds clinics and lectures across the U.S. and Canada.
Cathy has been certified as a therapeutic riding instructor by NARHA (now PATH), a yoga instructor by APFIA, and a thoroughbred racehorse rider by NHPC.

Katerina Romanenko, Ph.D. Assistant Director of Youth and Family Programs

An experienced educator and visual culture historian, Dr. Romanenko specializes in Museum education, art history, American History, and object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York and for more than 15 years teaches art history and works in Museum education. She also holds a BA in Education Sciences and has experience in research, development and implementation of educational programs for different age groups.

Alicia Mino, Art Educator, Manager of the School and Community Programs

An accomplished practicing artists and art educator, Alicia Mino received her Master’s in visual communication from the Metropolitan University of Chile, She spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. She presented in numerous art exhibitions and founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008 Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teaches art.

Lindsey Murphy, Art Educator and K-8 Program Coordinator

An art educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education, Lindsey Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology; concentration in Archaeology from Millersville University, and an Elementary Teaching Certification from Millersville University. She worked as a general education classroom teacher in the Oxford Area School District in Chester County, PA for 8 years, and has worked in PAFA’s education department over the past 11 years creating and implementing numerous museum tours and art making experiences for children and families of all backgrounds, becoming the K-8 Program Coordinator in 2019..

Melissa Hendrixson, Art Educator

Melissa Hendrixson is an artist and art educator who has worked in Museum Education for over five years. She has her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Studio Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has gained experience through assisting the coordination and development of various museum programming including family programs, youth art classes, and summer camps. She now works for the School and Community Partnership Program as an art educator where she develops and implements museum tours, school lessons, and community outreach programs to support student learning, parental engagement and visual literacy initiatives.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Champions Camps are for serious soccer players who wish to improve their individual skills and knowledge of the game while experiencing the total camp adventure. Soccer Academy has conducted Champion Camps for nearly twenty years and has tailored its programs to meet the needs of the individual player and team. The Champions Camp is a five-day camp for players from the ages of 9 to 18.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Soccer Academy began in 1981 by its founder John Ellis, in Northern Virginia with a vision to provide opportunities for young players to play, learn and enjoy soccer. John was truly a visionary of the time, designing and implementing programs that still develop players and coaches to this day. John has been inducted into the VYSA Hall of fame and recognized by NSCAA with a lifetime achievement award. John now resides in Florida, but still shares his passion for the game with those around him.

Today, Soccer Academy’s programs reach out to some 5,000 players each year. From four-year olds just learning the game, to 14-year-olds dreaming of playing for the U.S. National Team, to 18-year olds preparing for a college career, players of all abilities can benefit from a Soccer Academy program.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Head coaches Anatoly and Larisa Ivanov are National Russian coaches with more than 30 years of experience. All coaches are USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program professional members and Safety Certified by USA Gymnastics. Our staff is made up of coaches and trainers, who have been selected for their ability to teach, keep children excited about what they are learning, and help build confidence through success.

At Ivanov’s Gymnastics, campers ages 3 years and older do gymnastics and tumbling with high activity classes at every individual skill level. Beginners are welcome! CAMP PROGRAM INFO: GOAL
Our goal is to provide an environment for children to enjoy a healthy, active, happy summer with lots of entertaining activities and positive interaction with others. We utilize the benefits of gymnastics in most of our activities. Our campers finish their summer with new friends, happy memories, and a new gymnastics vision toward physical activity.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We offer year-round Evening Gymnastics and Tumbling classes for girls and boys ages 2-18.

OTHER CAMP INFO: Our theme this year is "Travel in Time with NHG”. Each week will depict a different era or time period. We will have various dress-up days, games, art projects, and special activities each week to go along with the theme. We have a special designed camp tshirt to celebrate our theme. The cost for the complete package of ALL extra activities including a Camp Shirt is $50/child IFpaid in advance. This is a $15 savings if all the activities and shirt are paid as a package in advance! If paid individually, the single cost for each individual activity is about $10. To purchase just a Camp Tshirt, the cost is $15. The deadline to pre-order a tshirt is May 2. A more detailed scheduled of dress-up days, events, and cost of activities will be provided at a later date.

We also offer swimming lessons through the camp. Sessions consist of 8 hours in a 2-week period. A maximumof 6 students per session will be allowed. It will be on a first come, first serve basis. The cost for swimming lessons is $75 per child if attending camp or $85 per child if not attending camp. We will transport the students that attend camp to and from swimming lessons in a private van. * Camp activities start at 8:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM. In order to accommodate working parents, we allow campers to be dropped off at the earliest by 7:30 AM and must be picked up at the latestby 5:30 PM. Any campers picked up after 5:30 PM will be charged $5 per 10 minutes late to be paid at the time of pick-up.

CAMP FEES
The breakdown of camp fees is designed to be flexible and convenient. You can pay by the day, or by a few days, or by the week, or by the month, or even by the whole summer camp. All multi-day and weekly fees are due on the first day of attendance for that week. If paying for 2, 3, or 4 days in a week, the days attended can be any days in that week (your choice). If paying for 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 weeks in advance, the weeks attended can be any weeks out of the summer camp (your choice). All fees are payable by first day of attendance, no exceptions. There will be NO refunds, NO credit for days missed, and NO transfer of days to other weeks.

They are both Harvard-educated and their 5 children were the inspiration behind the creation of this revolutionary new summer program

Brain Chase is a 6-week summer learning challenge disguised as a massive global treasure hunt for 2nd−8th graders. A golden globe has been buried somewhere on earth – and it contains the key to a safe deposit box holding a $10,000 college scholarship fund. Participants who complete an hour of online summer learning activities each day will unlock secret animated webisodes that hold the clues to the globe’s whereabouts. Guess the treasure’s location first, and you’ll be the one on a plane to dig it up.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Seeking part-time technology coaches to assist with the summer camp hours. 

CAMP FACILITIES: Equi-Best Equestrian Center is a fully equipped stable with wash stalls, covered and open air arenas. Jumping indoor and outdoor with cross country opportunities. Bunkhouse available for overnight guests. Many safe school horses provide guests with great experiences and help build confidence in young riders.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Equi-Best Equestrian Center riding camps give children the opportunity to develop equestrian skills. Learn how to safely handle a horse, how to groom a horse, how to saddle and bridle. Basic horse husbandry skills such as cleaning up before and after you ride, taking care of the tack, cleaning a horse's hooves. Plus, campers will make new and lasting friendships! They will develop basic riding skills and, if they are willing or are more experienced, they can learn more advanced techniques such as jumping and dressage. Our school horses are trustworthy companions. Many adults are present to supervise the campers. Activities and lessons can be tailored to the skill level of the camper, but we always put safety first!

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Equi-Best Equestrian Center also offers a complete horseback riding program from beginner through advanced at all ages. Essential riding skills as well as jumping, eventing, and dressage. Boarding is available with lots of pasture turnout. We will also host birthday parties. Children and adults are welcomed and encouraged to join us - it's always a good time to learn to ride!

CAMP FACILITIES: We have an outdoor pool, recreation, riding arena, round pen, barns and lots of other fun farm things to do.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Our program mostly revolves around horses. There are 4 staff members and we keep our number of children low so we can spend enough time with each one and teach them all they need to know about horse ownership.

All activities will be outdoors here. We will have lunches on the picnic table. This camp is to show your child what it is to own a horse and the responsibilities that come with a horse all the while showing them the many positive things we get from our horses. Horses teach respect, bonds, trust, patience, and confidence.

Various problem solving techniques will be introduced, as well as Math contest strategies. For Science: Scientific research methodologies, principles in mechanics, electricity and magnetism, optics, thermodynamics, etc., and real world applications such as roller coaster theory (you can learn to design your own roller coaster and build it at the camp!). For English as Second Language (ESL) students, there are also topics related to American culture and literature.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: At MehtA+, we ignite student passion for engineering. Our offerings are catered towards students from Kindergarten to College Freshman and involve a fusion of the humanities and the sciences. We believe the best way to learn something is to apply it and as such, all of our opportunities are application-based.

Our bootcamps give students an in-depth opportunity to learn concepts that are normally taught at the university level, while our workshops serve as a fantastic introduction to a new subject. In order to make engineering education more accessible, our digital kits are always free to everyone and allow students to create something awesome. Volunteerships are offered to former students who are looking to volunteer their time and apply what they have learned for social good, as they intern for one of our clients.

Our college preparatory services, which involve subject tutoring, standardized test preparation and college consulting, provide students the resources they need to be ready for college.
