During the summer of 2014 more than 70,000 US and international campers attended a US Sports Camps program. US Sports Camps currently offers 24 programs in 15 different sports.

Our summer sports camps include: Baseball, Basketball, Crew, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Lacrosse, Multi-Sport, Rugby, Running, Soccer, Softball, Swim, Tennis, Ultimate, Volleyball, Waterpolo, and Yoga. SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Each camp director is responsible for hiring their own staff and typically hire in late winter and early spring. CAMP FACILITIES: We have 13 summer cabins and 5 year-round retreat lodges, a large summer social hall and a smaller winter dining hall, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, high and low ropes courses, swimming and boating on our pond, two outdoor chapels, a labyrinth, five outdoor fire pits, large ballfield.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Silver Lake Conference Center has been welcoming conferees (campers) for a week of life-changing, community-building adventure in God's Backyard since 1957. Summer camp is open to young people in grades 4 though 12. Our conferences cover a broad range of interests and activities, from musical theater to poetry to high-energy games to sailing and canoeing. See individual conference descriptions for more information. Our week-long conferences have offered "once-in-a-lifetime experiences, over and over" to several generations of youth, helping to shape future leaders and spirited community-builders everywhere.

Each week during the summer we host five conferences for different age groups with different themes. The theme of the conference helps to shape some of the activities for the week. For example, Silver Lake's Funniest Videos will spend some time writing, shooting, and editing short films. Biking North will go on biking adventures outside of Silver Lake.

While a lot of the group's activity will center on the conference's theme, all conferences are camp experiences first: You will live at camp, eat in the social hall with the other conferences, swim in the lake, check out the high and low ropes courses, dig around in the garden, or sit around a campfire. Also, each conference takes turns leading all-camp worship one night of the week.

Silver Lake has become a sacred place to so many people, young and old. We invite you to come away from the busyness of everyday life and find out what is so special about this ministry of God's love.

Silver Lake welcomes church groups, youth groups, schools, non-profits and businesses during the Fall, Winter, and Spring.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We host weekend retreat groups in the off-season. Silver Lake-sponsored programs include Fall Action Weekend, Oct. 24-26, for high schoolers; Christmas at the Lake, Dec. 5-7, for 5th through 8th graders; Maple Sugaring, March 27-29, for 6th through 8th graders; and Spring Action Weekend, May 1-3, for high schoolers. CAMP FACILITIES: Life on the corridors of Westminster’s dormitories is both energetic and relaxing. It is well-supervised time with live-in corridor supervisors, often complete with family and pets. Student rooms are wired for the Internet and phone service. Corridors are made up of a variety of rooms, from singles to triples, and at least two seniors (Sixth Formers) live on each corridor of ten to fifteen students.

Adventure Camp: For over 100 years Camp Jewell YMCA has been a pioneer in off-camp adventure trips. Our trips offer teens new challenges through activities like kayaking, rock climbing, surfing, hiking, and biking. CAMP FACILITIES: Cedar Island Marina prides itself on offering amenities similar to a resort. We routinely maintain and update our facilities. This past winter we installed a brand new air-conditioned fitness center. We have an on-site heated pool, playground and volleyball court.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Holiday Hill NEST program grows 9th and 10th graders into leaders. Many of our oldest campers eagerly stay on, often becoming the next generation of kid-loving counselors. But NEST is not just counselor training, so we welcome all who seek a very educational and motivational program. NEST (Nurturing Experiences for Staff Trainees) — • 2-year progressive experiential education course • Develops natural leadership qualities by teaching basic camp leadership skills • Creates well-rounded, thoughtful, caring and competent staff members with a broad range of human relation skills, outdoor education techniques, sports, games and camp programming ideas. • Benefits young people regardless of their interest in camp counseling.

While not a prerequisite or a promise, most of our current staff members are graduates of this course. Eagle Phase • Campers entering ninth grade in the fall after camp • 4-week program taken in either sessions 1-2 or sessions 3-4 • Course components led by our Camp Director, Aquatics Director, Ropes Course facilitators and other key camp staff • Coordinated by a specially trained counselor who acts as the Group Leader • Enrollment limited on a first-come, first-served basis by registering with the standard summer camp registration form. If taken in the first half of the summer, successful participants may return for one or two more sessions as Junior Staff Trainees (JST’s). These young people are placed with camper groups to gain experience alongside regular staff.

If the Eagle Phase of the program is taken in the second half of the summer, campers may attend our regular camp program as Hawks (our oldest camper group) for all or part of the first two sessions. Junior Counselor Phase • Second summer of the program • Open to graduates of the Eagle Phase who are entering tenth grade in the fall • Junior Counselor candidates apply for a limited number of positions and attend at a special camp fee • Junior Counselors enroll for any number of sessions with a special Junior Counselor Application and Registration Packet and camp fee • JC’s attend certain pre-camp meetings in Mid-June along with our regular staff (dates TBA) • Rotated among different camper groups and specialty areas throughout the summer for a variety of experiences with different aged campers and activities • JCs receive additional in-service training, evaluation and mentoring throughout the summer from their special advisor and others in our camp leadership.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Mansfield’s Holiday Hill Day Camp is an American Camp Association accredited camp committed to helping youth develop valuable life skills through camping programs that build self-esteem, independence, leadership and friendship skills, environmental awareness, and a spirit of adventure and exploration. We serve people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and incomes. The funds available for Holiday Hill’s Campership Program are made possible through the generosity of our volunteers, alumni, camper families, staff and community donors, and the American Camp Association Camper Scholarship Program. Families are asked to provide financial information to substantiate their requests for tuition support. Three generations of central Connecticut families have come to trust us – to mentor their children, to ensure both physical and emotional safety, and to impart valuable life skills – all while kids are having the summer time of their lives. CAMP FACILITIES: All of our cabins are no more than 8 years old. Each is equipped with heat, air conditioning, and their own bathroom with stalls. Our huge dining hall is only 3 years old and holds our whole summer camp staff and campers. We are located on Lake Probus. We have a basketball court, gymnasium, and an outdoor pool.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summer Camp & Weekends in the Country are offered at the Horizons' Campus in South Windham, Connecticut. All activities are tailor made for children and adults with developmental disabilities and other special needs over the age of 8. During the summer a special Masters Program is offered for campers over the age of 40.

The staff at Horizons are passionate about what they do and are chosen for their proven abilities. They receive a six-day orientation, ongoing professional development, and regular support from an experienced, hands-on Leadership Team.

The spacious, exquisitely designed Milne Family Commons is the central gathering place: to enjoy healthy meals from a kitchen able to cater to special diets, to shop at the trendy Horizons Trading post, and to join together to celebrate accomplishments. Staff participate in a six day orientation, as well as ongoing staff development groups and weekly staff meetings. Our high rate of returning campers and staff is evidence of the success of Horizons.

CAMP FACILITIES: MoCA Westport is a non-profit visual and performing arts organization that has been a cornerstone of the Westport, Connecticut community for over 50 years. In 2019, MoCA Westport underwent a significant expansion in order to bring extensive programming to the local community and greater New York and New England regions.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Director Alexandra Coury has found that students start to work on leadership skills long after their personalities are formed which makes it harder for skills to improve. Alex feels that the earlier children are taught the basics skills needed to be a leader the more likely they are to take leadership roles through high school and beyond. Alex's goal is to take everyone's skills to the next level and to help them become better versions of themselves.

Alex's Background:

As a Division-I student-athlete, Alex Coury took on a large leadership role with the NCAA as a representative of nine universities to the National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In this role, Alex voiced the opinions of Division-I student-athletes to the executives of the NCAA, university presidents and college administrators. Additionally, Alex served as the sole Division-I female student-athlete representative to the Committee on Women's Athletics for two years where she advocated for the advancement of emerging sports for women and the promotion of females in athletic careers.

Professionally, Alex worked in the Department of Athletics at the University of Hartford from 2008-2013 working her way from graduate assistant to Assistant Director of Athletics in just three short years. During her time in athletics, Alex spoke at several national leadership conferences including the Conference on Gender Equity and Inclusion in San Diego, CA, the National Student-Athlete Leadership Conference, in Orlando, FL. and the NCAA Regional Women's Leadership Conference in Boston, MA.

Currently, Alex is the Program Manager for the Women's Education and Leadership Fund at the University of Hartford. Her primary responsibility is overseeing the female student leadership program including creating the four-year curriculum and acting as the lead facilitator in bi-weekly leadership training sessions.

"Alex earned an M.B.A. at the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford. She holds a Bachelor of Science in business management with a minor in communications from the University of Hartford.

Other camp staff members are college students who have excelled through leadership programming at the University of Hartford avenues.

CAMP FACILITIES: At the Camp Courant site there are several recreational areas including a sandbox, swimming pool, playscape, outdoor game outdoor basketball courts and a outside dinning area.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Capable Kids was started by a parent, Nesta Corso, in 1960. Today our key partnership with Camp Courant provides Harc an accessible physical location and allow us to engage and integrate with their groups. Harc builds a bridge for both sides to come together so that our campers are not sitting in a circle by themselves. While Camp Courant generously provides the accessible facilities to accommodate our campers for free, our children cannot integrate fully without the necessary staff supports. A third of our campers require 1:1 staffing assistance, the rest require one staff for every 3 or 5 children

Our summer counselors and lead staff receive extensive training that includes CPR/First Aide, Abuse & Neglect, Behavior Techniques and Community Services.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: There is a $35 application fee but the camp is free to Hartford residents. Fees for applicants who live outside of Hartford will be based on staff to camper ratio.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: From September to June on the first and third Saturday of each month, Harc provides Camp Bulova. This program is located at 900 Asylum Avenue in Hartford. Camp Bulova is a respite program for medically complex children from the ages of 3-21. During each session from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm children are able to enjoy arts and crafts, cooking, health and wellness, massage therapy, music therapy and occasional traveling zoos.

Capable Kids summer camp begins during the last week in June and runs for six week. The date usual depends on when the Hartford Schools break for the summer. Hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm. Transportation is provided to Hartford residents only. Campers who live outside of Hartford would meet at our main office at 900 Asylum Avenue in Hartford and the counselors will transport to and from the Camp Courant facility in Farmington. Theatre Scrapbook’s Summer Camp is for children in grades K through 12.
The July session show will be Seussical & the August session show will be Moana.
This is a two week intensive program where campers will learn and perform a musical. No experience is necessary to participate, every camper who auditions will be in the show. As the camp session is short, it is important that the children be able to attend every day of camp.
▪ Rehearsals run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm each day, with the exception of the performance day
▪ There will be a snack/lunch break in the middle of camp
▪ The goals of our camp are to help the children develop self-confidence and performance skills, as well as to have fun and make new friends in the community
▪ The children audition on the first day of camp and receive their roles the following day
▪ Each day, the children meet with our staff to learn their lines and songs, as well as engaging in theater activities
▪ On the last day of camp, we will stage a full Broadway-style show for the entire community with singing, dancing, costumes, lights and music.

CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. Summit has a small amphitheatre adjacent to our lake, with a miraculous view of our beautiful setting where we enjoy swimming, canoeing, and riding our banana boats. Our camp resides on a gently rising hillside, thus providing us with the physical basis for our motto, "The Magic on the Hill."

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. It is our goal and desire to take our campers from observing peer interactions to engaging in them, to learn and celebrate their own strengths and successes, and to feel a sense of belonging and shared community with those around them while they are with us.

Our Teen Travel program extends the Summit community to provide a safe yet exciting adventure to one of our many attractive national and international destination tours offering 14 day and 19 day excursions. Summit Weekenders provide a youth-group style social retreat for adolescents to have an oasis of independence, enjoyment, and success during the school year months. Regardless of the specific program, Summit provides an expertly staffed, highly structured, and truly fun experience for our youth, and has been doing so since 1969. Summit is accredited by the American Camp Association and takes pride in our long term commitment to and successes in working with special needs youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Transitions to Adult Living Skills program for youth aged 15-19 provides learning and vocational opportunities for our teens. We also have vocational programs for upper camp including, big brother/big sister, waiter/waitressing, working in a specialty area or as UL assistant, photography, and more. Our SUPER TEEN program focuses on building the executive function and daily living skills OUR kids needs to succeed as independently as possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summit provides weekender programs in metropolitan areas throughout the country which run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-day that provide an oasis of social involvement for our youth. NY/NJ and DC/VA weekenders meet on a monthly basis.

CAMP FACILITIES: While teamwork is an extremely important aspect engineering, due to COVID we have 4 students per class and a 1:1:1 Robot, Laptop to Student ratio. The benefits of this is learning at your own pace and in your own style.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The morning starts with an introduction and review of the day's plan. We have a brief lesson where we learn the concepts needed for the day, then take a break. After the break, we practice what we learned by programming our robots. The week culminates with a dance performance that we record and upload to Southeastern CT Robotics' Facebook page.

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Shakespeare Alive! is a collaboration between Oddfellows Playhouse Youth Theater and the Middletown-based professional theater company ARTFARM. The program will be directed by ARTFARM Artistic Director Marcella Trowbridge. Marcella is a professional performer, teacher and theater director. She specializes in making classic work immediate and contemporary. She has directed dozens of plays, including many original, classic and contemporary works, as well as Shakespeare’s King Lear, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and others. Some of the favorite roles that she has played include Hamlet, Lady Macbeth, Beatrice, Titania, and Kate in The Taming of the Shrew. She holds an MFA in Theater from Rose Bruford College in London.

Additional staff will include specialists in stage combat, ensemble performance and voice, as well as a professional team of designers.

Shakespeare Alive runs July 12 - 31, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 3 pm. There will be extended sessions on Thursday, July 29 for dress rehearsal , and 5 pm performances on July 30 & 31.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Every child must audition to attend the program. There are NO exceptions. Pre-registration for auditions is REQUIRED as well. Each child is to bring sheet music or an instrumental recording and be prepared to sing. An accompanist will be provided.

After auditions, those chosen to participate will be sent an invoice for the workshop fee of $135.00 per child (additional $15 Town of Colchester processing/administrative fee included).

The workshop will be held at Bacon Academy Auditorium, July 11 through July 22, Monday through Friday, 9am-Noon, culminating in a show on July 23 at 2:00 p.m. Colchester Community Theatre will be following the Colchester Public Schools and CDC guidelines during auditions and the workshop for the health and safety of our performers, patrons and staff.

Camp Hazen has more than 90 years of making summers memorable for kids. Camp Hazen YMCA is both licensed by the state of Connecticut and accredited by the American Camp Association.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The LEA program is for teens entering the 11th and 12th grade. The program has a limited number of spots that are decided by an application and interview process with the camp directors.

By participating in the LEA Program, participants will have a full three weeks of leadership workshops, teambuilding, belay training, working together as a group, planning activities, participating in camp program areas and contributing to the camp community. An optional fourth week is dedicated to obtaining an American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Realizing that families have differing abilities to pay, Camp Hazen YMCA has instituted a voluntary 4-tier pricing program for our Summer Resident Camp and Day Camp programs. All children will have the same experience no matter which tier a family is able to pay. The tier selected by a family will be kept confidential.

Tier 1
is based on the full cost of campers participating in the selected programs. If you are able to pay this amount, please do so. Thank you.

Tier 2
is a partially subsidized rate that will enable families that just can't afford the full cost of the camp program. Please, choose this rate if your family has the need to receive a subsidized rate.

Tier 3

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Two Coyotes Wilderness School is a nonprofit nature mentoring organization that connects people to nature, community, and self. We design interdisciplinary programs that provide a dynamic environment for students to face challenges, engage their natural curiosity, and cultivate an intrinsic love for learning that they bring back into the classroom and the rest of their lives.

We believe that nature connection is our birthright, and that catching frogs, muddy knees, and exploring wild places are essential to growing up strong and healthy. Since 2000, we have honed our innovative and transformative programs as the school has grown to employ 34 part-time instructors who provide long-term mentorship to more than 500 students (birth to 17) annually through school day, weekend, child & caregiver, rites of passage, and summer camp programs. Our staff are a fun-loving bunch of adults (and a few exceptional teens) who are passionate about helping kids connect to nature. We call our teaching staff “mentors” because they help people discover their gift and power by connecting them to nature and their heart.

Our teaching style follows the "coyote mentoring" method of teaching, where lessons are indirect, yet transformational. Within this framework, our skilled nature mentors tailor each day's activities to the needs and interests of the youth, including comfort and familiarity with spending a day in a natural environment. This cultivates young people's innate curiosity and a passion for learning that will serve them when they are back in the classroom and in their future careers.

Regardless of how youth encounter our programs, all our immersive wilderness-based learning experiences challenge them to build a deeper connection to nature, community, and their own personal empowerment. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: We offer a Mentor-in-Training program for teens who have grown up in our programs and/or are interested in pursuing a career in wilderness mentoring. The MIT program is offered during the summer in both Newtown and Granby. It includes 2 weeks of leadership training & development, plus at least 1 service week with one of our youth camps.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: During the school year, we offer weekly school day programs in Newtown, Granby, and Killingworth to children who are homeschooled and children who leave their traditional school one day/week to learn outdoors with us. We also offer monthly weekend programs based on Wildwood, our popular adventure-fantasy summer camp. Little ones (0-5) can enroll in our weekly Coyote Pups Caregiver & Child program with an adult. We offer some adult programming and also host family-friendly community events throughout the year.

OTHER CAMP INFO: We are a licensed camp registered with the Connecticut Department of Health. Each year they conduct an unannounced inspection for our camps to ensure we meet the health and safety regulations. We are in compliance with all stated rules and regulations.

Each of our camp locations is managed by an experienced camp director who works for Two Coyotes year-round in the field and has a First Aid Director onsite who is trained in adult and pediatric CPR and First Aid.

Our ratio of campers to staff is at least 6:1, with a maximum of 12 students in each camp group. This ensures groups small enough to provide a fun and intensive experience while large enough to have a diversity of kids and ample opportunity to make new friends.

Each group of campers is led by two instructors, one of which must be a Lead Instructor. Lead Instructors have hundreds of hours of field experience working in the woods with kids. These instructors are always dedicated adults who are passionate about connecting kids to nature. They are typically in their 20s or older and have a significant amount of life experience behind them.

Sometimes a camp group includes an Assistant Instructor. Assistant Instructors are typically adults who are newer to the field of wilderness mentoring but share a love for working with kids outdoors. Assistants may also be responsible teens who have grown up in our programs and have likely completed our Mentor-in-Training program over the course of one or more summers.

All of our field staff attend an intensive annual summer training that focuses on safety, emergency protocol, first aid, and our core curriculum. The majority of our instructors have received outside first aid and CPR certification, which may include Wilderness First Aid. Each camp group carries a walkie-talkie and a first aid kit to address minor health needs in the field. Serious injuries and illnesses are handled by calling parents or 911 if needed. We have a camp doctor on call to advise us on medical situations and protocol.

All staff have passed criminal and sexual offender background checks, and have provided both personal and professional references.

Katerina Romanenko, Ph.D. Assistant Director of Youth and Family Programs

An experienced educator and visual culture historian, Dr. Romanenko specializes in Museum education, art history, American History, and object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York and for more than 15 years teaches art history and works in Museum education. She also holds a BA in Education Sciences and has experience in research, development and implementation of educational programs for different age groups.

Alicia Mino, Art Educator, Manager of the School and Community Programs

An accomplished practicing artists and art educator, Alicia Mino received her Master’s in visual communication from the Metropolitan University of Chile, She spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. She presented in numerous art exhibitions and founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008 Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teaches art.

Lindsey Murphy, Art Educator and K-8 Program Coordinator

An art educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education, Lindsey Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology; concentration in Archaeology from Millersville University, and an Elementary Teaching Certification from Millersville University. She worked as a general education classroom teacher in the Oxford Area School District in Chester County, PA for 8 years, and has worked in PAFA’s education department over the past 11 years creating and implementing numerous museum tours and art making experiences for children and families of all backgrounds, becoming the K-8 Program Coordinator in 2019..

Melissa Hendrixson, Art Educator

Melissa Hendrixson is an artist and art educator who has worked in Museum Education for over five years. She has her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Studio Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has gained experience through assisting the coordination and development of various museum programming including family programs, youth art classes, and summer camps. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Each student will participate in:

• A large ensemble—which will workshop and give the world premiere of a new work by one of the mentor composers
• A small ensemble—which will co-create, rehearse, and premiere new work(s) by the student participants
• A small home group—which will feature games and social activities
• (Optional) Two, hour-long private composition les- sons—which will give students professional feedback on their music and personalized instruction
• A final, virtual concert—on Friday, July 31, 2 PM EDT

CAMP FACILITIES: The camp will be held on the Pelagic Beast II, a 40 foot custom Jersey Dawn Sport Fisherman boat, with our client’s utmost comfort in mind. Amenities included but are not limited to; a fully equipped kitchen including a refrigerator, stove and microwave, as well as a full head (bathroom) and air conditioned salon to come inside and escape the elements. We will be exploring the waters of the Long Island Sound, offering a complete, unique outdoor experience! Campers will be guided by Coast Guard licensed captains daily, teaching them the basic fundamentals needed to catch their own fish.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We also offer kids birthday parties, private fishing charters and shark fishing charters. We fish from April through December
