Campers choose three Minors each day that they can try once or repeat as often as they like. This allows campers plenty of opportunity to try new activities they have never been exposed to before.

Campers thrive, building on existing interests and developing new ones. They flourish and excel in the areas they become passionate about and self-confidence soars. They become better singers, dancers, actors, athletes, artists, and musicians.

Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. Our progression of camps and programs, led by our expert staff, are generated toward youth looking for a sport introduction or those who want to refine and master their sport-specific skills.

For Detailed Information on ALL of our summer sports camps, please visit our website at Our Camp Website Link: www.skyhawks.com.

Our coaches and site directors make a significant difference to your child's on-field experience. Chosen for their strong personal character, responsibility, and capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth, our staff will make the extra effort every time to ensure that your children have the best on-field/court experience, emphasize teamwork, and learn life skills through sports. OTHER CAMP INFO: Skyhawks Sports Camps are SAFETY FOCUSED!

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Day Camp Assistant (DCA) Day Camp Assistant (DCA) Training is the first step in Tanadoona’s leadership development program. Campers will spend part of their day in leadership training with lead camp staff – including behavior management, first-aid, specialty programming and more. You will be partnered up with a counselor during the rest of the day to assist with day camp groups in their daily activities. You'll stay overnight on Thursday, where you'll get a chance to help with Thursday Overnight campers. We recommend a minimum of two years of DCA before progressing to CIT. Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Have you always wanted to be a camp counselor? Join us for our Counselor in Training (CIT) two-week session. During the first week, you’ll make life-long friends; learn about camp administration; health & safety; leadership; planning and implementation; and camp operations. Camp Tanadoona has fantastic counselors and this is your chance to learn from the best! During the second week, you’ll work side-by-side with counselors, with the opportunity to implement activities you worked on during your first week. CITs will return home on the weekends.

CIT requires a special application process. Contact the Camp Fire office at (612) 235-7284 for more information. You do not need to have competed DCA to be eligible for CIT, but it is strongly recommended, please include your previous experience on your application. Summer of Service (SOS Leaders) Summer of Service is the final step in Tanadoona’s Leadership Development Program. This elite program is specially designed for past campers who have shown exceptional promise during other phases of the Leadership Development Program. Eligible participants will have completed their senior year of high school in spring 2014. Summer of Service Leaders will work with camp staff and counselors on all aspects of camp from traditional cabin groups to specialty program areas. The time spent at camp during their Summer of Service will prepare them for future leadership experiences in a camp or non-camp setting. Meals and housing are provided for Summer of Service leaders while at camp. SOS leaders must commit to a minimum of two weeks at camp during the 2014 summer. Spaces are limited, and SOS leaders must submit a special application for the program. Contact the Camp Fire office at 612.235.7284.

CAMP LOCATION: Laketrails is located on Oak Island in Lake of the Woods, about 6 miles from the mainland in the extreme northern area of Minnesota. We are found in the very unique Northwest Angle region of MN approximately 65 miles from the nearest U.S. towns of Roseau and Warroad, MN. The Base Camp location encompasses 17 wooded acres with rustic cabins, and it lies adjacent to our 250+ acres of wooded wilderness on the main part of Oak Island. Check out our website and this link to the Laketrails Photo Gallery: Our Camp Website Link: laketrails.org.

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in tents while on their 5-6 day canoe trips. Base Camp accommodations include 7 rustic camper cabins with bunks, our main Lodge where meals are served, the Chart House, or program building; a sauna, a large campfire area, and the Wilderness Building for trip food and equipment. Walking paths connect the facilities with an open yard for games and gatherings near the Lodge. All areas provide beautiful views of Lake of the Woods.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: "Unconditional acceptance" has been the hallmark of Laketrails since 1952. We believe every teen should be accepted for who they are, and we seek to develop empowered youth by teaching a healthy appreciation of nature, community living, and the gift of themselves. Teens gain a true sense of confidence and competence while paddling their way into the Canadian wilderness.

Nearly all activities at Laketrails involve the water! Swimming, beach games, fishing, Fun-yaks, canoeing, and campfires are all popular pastimes. A 5-6 day canoe trip through the island wilderness of Ontario is at the heart of our 9-day program.

Laketrails staff is certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR, and well-trained in safety protocols, wilderness travel, and communication. To best serve our campers, a 1:5 ratio is maintained between staff and campers. We are proudly accredited by the American Camp Association. Please visit our website, Our Camp Website Link: www.laketrails.org, for more information.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Developing leadership skills is an inherent by-product of the Laketrails program. Returning campers are eligible to apply for our Camper-Worker program which is a leadership position for campers.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At Laketrails we believe no one should be deprived of the opportunity to experience a wilderness adventure because of a lack of finances. Therefore, we are pleased to be able to offer financial aid for campers in need. Campers who qualify for free/reduced school lunch automatically qualify for our financial aid. Please complete our "campership" application: Our Camp Website Link: laketrails.org.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: MDAW is a collaborative effort between The Minnesota Urban Debate League (a program of Augsburg University) and The University of Minnesota Debate Team. Our goal is to increase access to debate for schools, coaches, and students entering 6th – 12th grade by providing a high quality summer speech & debate camp experience to students in the Twin Cities Metro and the Upper Midwest region.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: MDAW’s Format Encourages Skill-Building.
MDAW offers instructional workshops tailored to specific age groups. We work with area educators to provide a comprehensive curriculum that readies students at every level with evidence and skills for the next debate season.

MDAW Students Get TONS of Practice.
We offer practice debates and skill-building drills nearly every day of camp. Middle school students find friendly competition in a full length debate at the end of their weekly sessions – so students can get a feel for the tournament experience. For high school students each session offers a number of full-length debates throughout their camp stay. In addition to this, staff facilitate re-dos, provide feedback, and create concrete steps for the student to continue improvement while at camp, carrying those skills into the competitive season.

MDAW Faculty Work Hard.
We have incredibly experienced, talented folks working with students on a day-to-day basis. We make sure that students are exposed to a variety of styles while ensuring they can focus on skills and strategies they’ll use throughout the year. Our goal is to attract the best talent to our workshop so that students who attend MDAW will be prepared to have a successful season and build community.

MDAW is Budget Conscious.
Our workshop operates on a not-for-profit basis. We run MDAW out of a desire to increase local opportunities for excellent debate instruction, not to make money. Tuition and room/board expenses are pegged to cost of running the workshop and providing fair salaries for staff. Scholarships are available, so don’t hesitate to contact us even though financial constraints may be a problem. We are committed to making sure no student is prevented from attending due to challenging economic circumstances, to the extent possible.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.

Our staff is, comprised of the best children's chess instructors in North America! The USA Chess camps are uniquely qualified to cater to the needs of the advanced scholastic player as well as the true beginner. USA Chess hit its first milestone in the summer of 2000 producing the largest chess camp ever held in the United States, with more than 250 students enrolled. What was most surprising, however, was the amount of absolute beginners in attendance - more than 50% of the total enrollment was just starting to play chess. This realization led to the national rollout tour of 100 camps in more than 70 cities. The annual tours have been immensely successful with several thousand campers attending this year alone.

USA Chess thrives on providing a structured environment that is extremely conducive to learning chess. We handpick the best children's chess instructors from all over the United States and bring them to each camp. We believe our team is most effective in teaching chess to children of all ages and levels. The exceptional organization and ever-fun curriculum has fueled much interest from scholastic players and coaches from around the country, prompting them to request USA Chess camps in their areas.

At the same summer camp locations, we also offer the immensely popular Gamebuilder Video Game Creation Camps, The Active Learning Computer Animation Programs, and other Computer Enrichment Programs such as Modding, Networking and Hosting with Minecraft. We now offer seven unique programs in all.

At these camps, children are assigned a computer for the week; they spend the week learning to create their own one-of- a- kind video games in our Gamebuilder Camps, Animation Projects in our Animation Camps, also Modding, Networking and Hosting with Minecraft.

They are both Harvard-educated and their 5 children were the inspiration behind the creation of this revolutionary new summer program

Brain Chase is a 6-week summer learning challenge disguised as a massive global treasure hunt for 2nd−8th graders. A golden globe has been buried somewhere on earth – and it contains the key to a safe deposit box holding a $10,000 college scholarship fund. Participants who complete an hour of online summer learning activities each day will unlock secret animated webisodes that hold the clues to the globe’s whereabouts. Guess the treasure’s location first, and you’ll be the one on a plane to dig it up.

Enrollment is limited to the first 5,000 entrants.

You’ll do the challenge when you want, where you want, and at your own pace. And it’s CUSTOMIZED. You get to work at your own level. - See more at: Our Camp Website Link: brainchase.com
