BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Campers enjoy a wide range of summer fun activities including swimming, fishing, pontoon boat rides, cooking classes, an "Ask the Neurologist" session and so much more. Camp Discovery "Epilepsy Camp" offers 24-hour medical staffing as well as the opportunity to learn and share with peers and counselors who also have epilepsy. Camp Discovery is fully equipped to manage frequent seizures, medication administration and monitoring, and disabilities often associated with epilepsy, such as cerebral palsy, autism, and intellectual disability. Because of this uniquely safe and supportive environment, campers are free to discover their own abilities

Theater, Music/Band, Basketball, Soccer, Horses/Equestrian, Swimming, Waterfront/Aquatics, Wilderness/Nature, and more. Pontoon Boat Rides

CAMP LOCATION: Located in Livingston County, Michigan. Camp serves children with epilepsy across the Great Lakes Region.

CAMP FACILITIES: North Star Reach includes a health center, dining hall, cabins to house campers and staff, arts and crafts center, a swimming pool, nature trails, athletic court, sports field, an accessible tree house, archery range, amphitheater and waterfront docks, all designed to fit in a rustic camp environment.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Discovery offers 24-hour medical staffing, including pediatric neurologists, as well as the opportunity to learn and share with peers and counselors who also have epilepsy. Camp Discovery is fully equipped to manage frequent seizures, medication administration and monitoring, and disabilities often associated with epilepsy, such as cerebral palsy, autism, and intellectual disability. Because of this uniquely safe and supportive environment, campers are free to discover their own abilities.
The chance to try new things and the interaction with others who live with epilepsy contribute to a truly life-changing experience. Campers come away with newfound confidence, independence, social skills, knowledge of epilepsy, and friendships.
