BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: We have four exciting camps for children: July 8 -12 Ages 5-9 "Fantasy Land" Creative Dance, Expressive Contemporary, Stretch & Tumble
July 15 -19 Ages 7-12 "Musical Theater" Hip Hop, Tap, Contemporary & Ballet Barre Warm-up
July 22 – July 26 Ages 10-16 "Dancer’s Intensive I"
For Intermediate Level Dancers
Ballet • Jazz • Contemporary • Improvisation
July 29 – August 2 Ages 10-16 "Dancer’s Intensive II"
For Intermediate Level Dancers
Hip Hop • Tap • Daily Ballet Warmup
Star Dance camps are super fun! We also provide a week of quality dance education with our very own wonderful Star Dance Studio & Dance Masters of America certified instructors! Camp size is limited to 8 -16 children per camp.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Dance, Musical Theater, and more.
CAMP LOCATION: Dance Camps are at Star Dance Studio. Located in the Inner Sunset district at the corner of 9th Ave and Moraga St. The neighborhood is lovely, quiet, and street parking is easy (and free) during the weekdays.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have 2 dance studios in the building. We use our large dance space for the dance classes and performance. Camp sit-down activities, arts & crafts are held in our mezzanine studio. Dressing rooms, indoor and outdoor eating areas and office are downstairs.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Star Dance Studio has been a neighborhood and family style dance school since 1950. Over sixty-eight years! Our faculty and staff are warm and caring people who love working with children. Instructors are adults well experienced in their dance art and teaching skills. For camp assistants, we often bring in the teen and college students whom we've trained to teach.
Each Wednesday, we take a walk to the Golden Gate Park's Arboretum and Shakespeare's Garden. There, we take candid dance photographs (shared with you). Afterward, the kids get to enjoy one of the best pizza restaurants in San Francisco, "Pasquale's Pizzeria"! A healthy salad and cheese pizza. Water or juice to drink. (No soda.) If special foods are required, please inform us in advance.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Selected Star Dance teen students and returning college students are afforded the opportunity to continue their leadership training during the camps.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Sep-Jun classes for ages 3-20 in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, Boys Tap Team, Children's combination classes (ballet, tap, tumbling, creative). Adult classes, too!
4-week summer classes for all ages July to Aug
